An Australian couple with a flair for Do It Yourself jobs have changed a 1963 Viscount worthy caravan into a spectacular hair salon.
Mum-of-two Alicia Birch, 34, from South Australia, has been a hairdresser for close to 20 years and was seeking an appropriate part-time work from home role.
After thoughtful factor to consider, her spouse Ben, 36, recommended refurbishing a previously owned caravan to start her own company – which they then bought in March 2020 for $2,500.
‘ The caravan was extremely rundown and required to be removed and dressed up with new material,’ Alicia informed FEMAIL.
Today the caravan rests on their residential or commercial property and Alicia works 4 days a week with a continuous rotation of consumers.

The set completed the entire remodelling themselves on weekends as Ben is a full-time cabinet maker and Alicia has an eager eye for interior design.

‘ The job would’ve cost a lot more if we paid for labour and tradesmen, so I feel very lucky,’ she said.

‘ The project would’ve cost a lot more if we spent for labour and tradesmen, so I feel really fortunate,’ she said.
As the caravan is more than 50 years old and has a circular outer shell, whatever had to be custom-made made.
‘ It was certainly an obstacle guaranteeing whatever fit, but we’re really delighted with the end result,’ she said.
The caravan now has a refined exterior with child blue horizontal stripe function on a white canvas background with a wooden front door.

As guests await their consultation they can take pleasure in a coffee or tea, and Alicia likewise has sufficient storeroom for her tools and products.

‘ Love this, looks beautiful! I’m doing a similar reno to my 72 Viscount Royal,’ one lady stated.
‘ I have actually simply started renovating my own to make into a mobile massage center,’ another stated.
